Blue Wind Donkeys

A jack donkey is the male intact donkey. Bred to a jenny (female donkey) to produce a donkey foal or bred to a mare (female horse) to produce the famous hybrid known as the mule.

Moon is young and very eager to start his breeding career. He is extremely smooth gaited and very gentle. He is a deep russet red with a beautiful red mask.

update: Moon performed his first breeding to Maggie late September '08. He was as gentle as a gentleman could be. Moon surprised us again by re-accepting his place in the boy herd after the "honeymoon" took place. What a sweetheart he is!

MOON

Moon was born in November of 2006. Shown above at 5 months of age. Below at almost 2 years old. He is from Eagle Rest Plantation bloodlines. Kevil, KY.

Shown below is Bess Jackstocks "Shinner". Shinner is the sire of our 2007 jack "HuriKane".

MOON and KANE

Kane was born in April of 07 and comes from Bess Jackstock in MO. Both Moon and Kane are our future herdsire prospects. Moon shown on left above and on right below at 1 year old. Kane still in baby fuzz is shown at 6 months old. Kane's sire is Randy Bess'jack Shinner who goes back to Ron Jump, MO.

HuriKane

Kane is growing up very nice. We are very pleased with him. He now stands about 56 inches (14 hands) tall at 1 1/2 years old. He is thick boned and a big love bug. We could not be happier with our two jack boys!

Interesting Note: The Bess Jackstock original three matriarch herd jennets, went back to Jimmy Don Robinson of Eagle Rest Plantation, Kevil, KY. Which happens to be where Moon came from, only many years later.
