A jack (male) donkey that has been gelded / castrated is simply called a gelding in the donkey world. Geldings are fun and curious. They play very hard at their games amongst each other. We currently have geldings ranging from age three to age nine. All are in training and some are for sale.

BOB
height: 55 inches (56 on rump)
This is Bob's forth summer of trail riding. He is a 1998 large standard - just shy of being mammoth height. Before he came to Blue Wind he was a jack used for breeding mares for mule colts. He has a very sweet mellow temperament. Bob is a hard keeper with bad teeth that require a six month dental check up, cleaning and floatings. He thinks he is special because he gets fed twice a day with an equine senior special feed blend. Bob is very special and this is his forever home.

KODY
*** A HUGE CONGRATS TO KODY AND AMANDA ***
Amanda joined 4-H this year (08) with Kody. They have come a VERY long way together, with Amanda doing most all of the training herself! They made it through their first year of 4-H and the fair and are looking forward to 4-H next year. They are planning on attending a few fun shows and an all donkey and mule show later this summer; as well as getting a few trail rides in. Pictures to follow soon!
Kody is a 2002 large standard gelding. He came to live with us when he was a yearling. Kody was started under saddle the summer of 2007. He is my "pretty boy".

MISTER
Mister is our very first mammoth donkey. He came to Blue Wind when he was 11 months old, born 2004. He was very mischievous as a youngster, but over the past year has matured mentally and is now a sweet boy with some manners. Ed started Mister under saddle this summer of 2008. Again, we are very pleased with him and his acceptance of the saddle, headstall and rider ~ he is doing awesome!

T-BONE
height 36 inches
T-Bone came to live with me in 2001. He is a 1997 borderline miniature. He was my very first donkey. It was he who taught me a donkey’s love. I have taught him how to both ride and drive. My children used to ride him when they were little and now my nephew and other children come to take little donkey rides on him. He has been a super great companion for horses, mules, donkeys and me. He loves his donkey rubs and hugs and any attention you dish out. Needless to say, T-Bone holds a very special place in my heart.
